Jean Giraud Moebius llegó a ser una obsesión. Imágenes que evocan historias, e historias que evocan sensibilidad y emociones. Cuando ves estos dibujos ves infinitas historias que intentan responder a la misma pregunta, ¿cómo y por qué? Y ahí está la poética y la fascinación por este artista, de referencia junto a Syd Mead, como estimula la imaginación del espectador con una sola instantánea.
Jeremy Geddes ha conseguido provocarnos la misma sensación con sus pinturas. Bajo una técnica brutal al óleo nos brinda unas imágenes dramáticas y otras más surrealistas. Son precisamente estas últimas las que más nos has gustado por nuestra afición a la Ciencia Ficción, así que más que surrealistas diríamos que son Futuristas.
En una entrevista en Australianedge.com dice:
«The cosmonaut paintings are a step away from my old method of painting, where every element was strictly controlled to enforce a particular narrative. I found that controlling the structure too tightly limited the stories that the viewer could bring to it. With these paintings I’m trying to leave the narrative ambiguous and open to interpretation, whilst juxtaposing enough disparate elements to make some sort of interpretation necessary. I’m keen to never give enough clues to block any potential explanation the viewer might bring. I want to spark questions, rather than answer them».
