Después de mostrar los nuevos escenarios cosmopolitas del diseño de París, Milán y Estocolmo, Francesco Pirrello (fundador de «Meet My Project») pretende interpretar el concepto de ésta original exposición bajo la supervisión de Clément Sauvoy (periodista francés especializado en diseño, estilo de vida y arquitectura): la 13 ª edición de exposiciones de Pirrello «Meet My Project» llegará a la Gran Manzana con motivo de la «New York Design Week».
Este primera instalación en Nueva York tendrá lugar en el Chambers Hotel NY (Manhattan, Midtown, a pocas manzanas del MoMA) entre el 18 y el 21 de mayo de este año.

Durante la «New York Design Week» (ICFF, Wanted Design Fair, Noho Design District, los showrooms del Soho y más), el Hotel Chambers será la sede de piezas de grandes fabricantes franceses (Saint-Louis, Christofle), de emblemáticos y reconocidos editores (como Roche-Bobois, La Tôlerie Forézienne, Emeco, Dedar, Bulo, Serralunga, Design Within Reach, Brokis, Mixcv), y las personalidades más importantes del diseño (Christophe Pillet, Christophe Delcourt, Boo Bram, Ito Ora, Karim Rashid, Philippe Hurel, Brad Ascalon, Cedric Ragot, Stephen Burks, Claudio Colucci, Mathieu Lehanneur, Dan Yeffet y Koldova Lucie, Rodrigo Almeida) y también de destacadas galerías de diseño contemporáneo (Cristina Grajales, SMO Galerie, Colombari, Secondome), por no hablar de una naciente generación de jóvenes talentos de diseño representada por Bette Eklund, Baitel Bina, Corio Laurent, Hofman Naama, Akabane Miwa, Loic Lobet y Triolaire Anaïs y Liljenberg Cristina.
La meta en la esencia de este ambicioso proyecto, es romper las fronteras entre las tradicionales ferias internacionales (Maison&Objet, Milan International Furniture Fair, London 100% Design, etc.), las ferias de arte (PAD, Basilea, Miami, etc) y las exposiciones de diseño contemporáneo en galerías. El objetivo no es sólo exportar lo mejor del diseño europeo a la Gran Manzana, sino también construir puentes fundamentales entre los dos mundos en términos de arte, diseño, creación y comercio.
Bram Boo – Overdose desk, by Bulo
La escenografía ha sido proyectada por el estudio de Manhattan de Brad Ascalon, uno de los talentos del diseño de su generación más importantes de Estados Unidos, que se ha asociado con otras dos empresas estadounidenses para producir la exposición específica del lugar: el fabricante de metal laminado Chemetal (Massachusetts) y con la empresa de producción y diseño Draft Works (Filadelfia).
Este nuevo estilo de curaduría desarrollada por Sauvoy Clémenttambién está destinada a reuniones, intercambios mutuos y el debate, ya que se exponen más de 70 piezas dedicadas al lujo francés, así como una instalación realizada por el estudio suizo Allegory, que abarca un espacio de 400 metros cuadrados, divididos entre el vestíbulo y el entresuelo. Durante el evento único, donde las visiones se combinan y chocan, el diseño de los alimentos también se presentará bajo la dirección de «David Edwards’ Laboratory» (profesor de diseño en la Universidad de Harvard). Además, el evento contará con dos proyecciones de vídeo realizadas por el director de cine Eames Demetrios y el arquitecto del Chambers Hotel NY, David Rockwell.

Para mostrar de primera mano la naturaleza del diseño que trasciende el alcance y borrando los límites, una pieza de vidrio de gran tamaño de Vincent Breed expuesta recientemente en la feria de arte de Hong Kong (Hong Kong Art Fair), hará eco de la investigación artística de la forma y el patrón de dos impresionantes grafistas franceses : Emmanuel Bossuet y Camille Baudelaire.

After showcasing the new cosmopolitan design scenes of Paris, Milan and Stockholm, Francesco Pirrello (founder of Meet My Project) sets out to interpret an original exhibition concept under the supervision of Clément Sauvoy (French journalist based in Paris specializing in design, lifestyle, and architecture): a brand new 13th edition of Pirrello’s exhibitions will be brought to the Big Apple on the occasion of New York Design Week.

The goal at the heart of this ambitious project is to break the boundaries between the traditional international fairs (Maison&Objet, Milan International Furniture Fair, London 100% Design, etc.), the gallery fairs (PAD, Basel, Miami, etc.) and the contemporary design gallery exhibitions. The objective is not only to export the best of European design to the Big Apple but also to build fundamental bridges between the two worlds in terms of art, design, creation and trade.This bridging of the fields will be brought to the attention of an American audience of designers, journalists, collectors, manufacturers, distributors, and the contract business elite, as well as the large number of overseas visitors that NYC is accustomed to during the city’s yearly string of design events.The set design is provided by the Manhattan studio of Brad Ascalon, one of America’s leading design talents of his generation, who has partnered with two additional American companies, the Massachusetts-based metal laminate manufacturer Chemetal and the Philadelphia-based design and production house Draft Works, to produce the site-specific exhibition.
This new style of curation by Clément Sauvoy is also intended for meetings, mutual exchanges, and debate as more than 70 pieces devoted to French luxury, as well as an installation by the Swiss studio Allegory, span a space of 400 square meters, split between the lobby and open mezzanine.
During the unique event, where visions will combine and collide, food design will also be presented under the guidance of David Edwards’ Laboratory (Design professor at Harvard University). In addition, the event will feature two carte-blanche video projections by the film director Eames Demetrios and the architect of Chambers Hotel David Rockwell.
To show firsthand the nature of design transcending scope and blurring the lines, an oversized glass piece (from the most recent Hong Kong Art Fair) by Vincent Breed will echo the art researches on form and patterns by two stunning French graphists artists: Emmanuel Bossuet and Camille Baudelaire.
